Business Development Manager - Europe

Position Description

Builds market position by locating, researching, developing, defining, negotiating, creating and maintaining strong business relationships and in turn generating increased sales from these relationships.  Responsible for: identifying new sales leads, promoting/pitching products and ensuring RotoMetrics meet/exceed their sales strategy.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Deliver increased business and exceeding sales goals / personal objectives by:
  • Creating and following up a market strategy of existing and new launched products for the European market;
  • Idea generator of new products according to market demands;
  • Identifying new sales leads by:
    • Researching organisations and individuals to identify trends, new leads and potential new markets;
    • Researching the culture / needs of companies and learning who makes decisions about purchasing;
    • Keeping up to date sales pipeline and client information up to date and secure;
    • Create and explore new business / sales opportunities;
    • Contacting potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and set up meetings;
    • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives;
    • Innovative thinking – finding ways to break down barriers to gaining new clients / relationships;
    • Ensuring RotoMetrics stays ahead of competitors, ensuring critical industry information is sought and used accordingly;
    • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events – networking professionally and productively.
  • Promoting / pitching products:
    • Preparing professional, accurate and well-structured presentations and sales displays that meet the needs of the audience;
    • Ensuring full product knowledge at all times, keeping up to date and demonstrating exceptional product knowledge;
    • Contacting clients (current or potential) to inform them about new developments in the company’s products;
    • Ensuring accurate quotes and proposals are delivered professionally, promptly and followed up;
    • Negotiating and renegotiating by phone, email, and in person ensuring profitability and deliverability at all times;
    • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations;
    • Delivers promises and ensures clients expectations are met at all times.
  1. Protects RotoMetrics value by keeping information confidential;
  2. Close collaboration with the US WHQ counterpart;
  3. Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills;
  4. Ensure accurate, timely and organised administration, preventing errors at all times;
  5. Support and contribute positively to cross functional collaborative team working across RotoMetrics;
  6. Striving for continuous improvements, putting forward suggestions to help improve the business;
  7. Adhere to health & Safety procedures and company policy at all times;
  8. Maintain high standards of good housekeeping;

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

Knowledge /Skills /Abilities

  • A working knowledge of PC applications, including the Microsoft Office suite of programmes.

Education / Experience

  • At least 3-5 years acquired skills in the tag and label industry or press manufacturing industry is essential;
  • Experience as a Business Development Manager;
  • Fluent in English, and German; Another European Language is advantageous;
